Linley: Armchairs with Detail and Creativity

Founded in 1985 by David Linley, Linley is one of the top names in the design industry. With the aim of designing and manufacturing furniture of the highest quality, Linley has worked closely,  over the years with designers and craftsmen to ensure that each piece has those quintessentially British characteristics of inventiveness, meticulous attention to detail, ingenuity, creative spirit, eccentricity, sophistication, wit and charm. Among their collection, we selected some of their fantastic armchairs.

David has also written numerous books and has lectured around the world at prestigious venues such as the V&A Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.  In 2006, David took up the position of Honorary Chairman for Christie’s Europe, Middle East, Russia & India, in addition to his role as Chairman of LINLEY.

SAVOY SWIVEL CHAIR – NAVY

The Savoy Swivel Chair is handcrafted using traditional methods. Classically made, the chair in navy has hand-tied springs with a sprung cane edge. The foam core is wrapped in duck feather and down to allow extra bounce and comfort. The edge of the frame has been crafted in American Walnut and the showwood back is made from figured anigre.

NELSON CHAIR

A leather chair based upon Vice Admiral Lord Nelson and his favourite chair. The beech frame is supported on utile legs and features fine brass studwork. Hand stitched and using traditional techniques, the Nelson chair sports linen braid tufting on the back and seat.

GENTLEMAN’S CHAIR – CARAMEL

A refined chair available in tan suede. The beach frame is supported on walnut legs with castors and features fine brass studwork and rosettes.

CADOGAN WINGBACK CHAIR

With dynamic lines and angled walnut legs, the Cadogan Wingback Chair is a callback to a classic 1930s design. The channel back chair is upholstered in plush grey velvet from Osborne & Little.

CADOGAN CLUB CHAIR

The Cadogan Club Chair features dynamic lines and angled walnut legs, finished with subtle antique brass feet.

TRANSATLANTIC CHAIR – HERRINGBONE

A comfortable armchair with generous proportions and walnut feet, the Transatlantic Chair is the perfect chair to add a touch of luxury to a living room or bedroom.

SAVILE ARMCHAIR – SANDSTONE

The Savile Armchair – Sandstone, designed by Mathew Hilton for LINLEY, is created with a dark stained oak and hand-dyed tay frame with brushed stainless steel legs. The seat is upholstered in sandstone coloured boucle wool.

WELLESLEY CHAIR

Inspired by Folke Ohlsson designs in the 1950’s & 60’s, the Wellesley Chair showcases Scandinavian design. The body of the chair is made from a singular block shell, its subtle curves are contoured for a comfortable fit and upholstered in moss green cashmere wool.

RITZ MACASSAR GENTLEMAN’S CHAIR

Evoke the glamour of 1920’s London with the Ritz Macassar Armchair, handcrafted in our British workshops, this bold chair exudes extravagant sophistication and can be upholstered in your choice of fabric. The seat and a boxed back cushion is filled with feather down with a reflex foam core for a soft and comfortable seat.
