Today, Modern Chairs has a very unique type of comfortable chair for you. Have you ever imagined to do not have to get up every time you want to choose another book or magazine to read? These incredible bookshelf chair design examples will help you with that.
Bookworm is a single piece of furniture that combines a chair and bookshelf in one. The shelf is curved into a cocoon for avid readers. The lower half of the curve can be used as a reading comfortable chair. From the top of the bookshelf a simple light bulb hangs to provide the reader with a direct, overhead light source.
Bookworm is designed, developed and sold by Atelier 010. This small Dutch design and production studio for architecture and furniture was founded by Anne Harmsen & Paul Schrijen in 2009.
The Bookworn is created by gluing and stacking thin pieces of plywood on top of each other they created their own plywood. These stacks are pressed into moulds that define the shape of the bookworm. Once finished, this chair design could be part of your home office chairs or even as living room chairs, if you place it against a wall.
But this is not only it. Modern Chairs found two other great designer chairs for you to enjoy your reading.
Upholstered chairs: another example of a book chair is this sunflower chair created by designers He Mu and Zhang Qian from the Shanghai University of Engineering Science. A fluffy cushion provides a high level of comfort and the possibility to relax in more than one body position. A clever shelving system for books and magazines surrounds the user, who can simply reach out and grab his or her favorite publication.
More designer chairs: The OpenBook is a comfortable chair turned in a reading space for those wanting a quieter moment, while also a showcase for books and magazines of any size and shape.
